Little Brother Surveillance Nathaniel Brown and Chris Mordue

Review of basic project concept View surveillance camera images on a cell phone Scenario  Parent and young child in department store Find lost child Related work  Cell cameras (cameras with a phone number)  b cameras

Demonstration Hope to have full demo working  Display images from camera on cell phone  Same as original scenario Implementation has changed though

Implementation Diagram

FPGA Architecture USB Controller Load Image Controller SRAM Image Resize Computer

Computer Software Architecture Java Capture Code C Code for USB Communication Bluetooth Communication FPGAWebcam Cell Phone

Implementation What is done?  Software to get images from webcam  PC software to communicate with FPGA over USB  USB communication on FPGA  Read/write to SRAM on FPGA  Image resize algorithm What isn’t?  Putting it all together and testing  Cell phone Bluetooth is much more complicated than expected

Evaluation Haven’t got everything working yet to test Want to test:  How often can we send new images?  How user friendly is it?

Future Work Remove the PC from our implementation Extend the system to handle multiple cameras  Allow user to click through all of a store’s cameras Allow remote control of cameras via phone  For use by security personnel
