We connect helpful tutors with hardworking students Alex Wang Erin Singer Pat Briggs Elia Ahadi

Problem It’s hard to advertise yourself and your skills effectively. It’s difficult to coordinate schedules. For Tutors For Tutees & Parents It’s difficult and time consuming to find a helpful tutor that you can trust. An app that helps connect hardworking students with helpful, reliable tutors – In other words, Tutera An app that helps connect hardworking students with helpful, reliable tutors – In other words, Tutera Solution

Prototype Implementation Status

Tools Being Used Web application using Ruby on Rails Hosting on Heroku BUT, with the Xcode tool we plan to: - Create a (practically) empty iPhone app - Loads a web browser that goes to our site - Will work just like a regular app (but won’t do anything without an internet connection)

Implemented Features Tutor search: Can select “Find a Tutor” Can type in a subject and location/current location Can get a list of tutors who teach said subject Can see a tutor’s profile

Implemented Features Tutor search continued: Can select to book a tutor Can select a time based on tutor’s availability Can select a location Can view confirmation details and submit info

(Mostly) Implemented Features Mostly implemented creating a profile Mostly implemented entering credit card feature Filter incomplete Ability to measure distances incomplete

Unimplemented Features Tutor search: Filter incomplete Ability to measure distances incomplete Profile creation in process

Unimplemented Features Task 2 & 3 - Tutor sign up - Recommending a tutor

Helper Techniques No Wizard of Oz Techniques so far Hard-coded Data: - We don’t have access to enough tutors to populate our search - Lots of fake tutors, times, locations, etc. - Our database is fully functional, so if we had real data, it’d work

Prototype Time!

Thank you! Any questions?
