location China is located in East Asia and covers 9.6 million square kilometers. The Republic of China is the third largest county in area and the largest in population. China is the third largest country in the world. The land area of China consists of 9,596,960 square kilometers. China’s coastline is around 14,500 kilometers _ N.jpg

population The population of china is approximately 1.32 billion, this has been said to be around a fifth of the worlds population(estimate 2007). China hit 1 billion in 1982 and then increased its population to 1.3 billion in About 23% of the population on Earth, live in China. Every year 20 million baby’s are born in China.

Climate Chinas climate varies from bitterly cold in winter to hot in summer China has a climate dominated by dry seasons and wet monsoons In northeast China, summer is short but there is a lot of sunshine, while winter is long and cold Minimum winter in China ranges from -27°C in Northern Manchuria and 4°C in Southern Manchuria. Summer temperatures in China are less uniform in the southern and central regions. Rainfall in China mostly occurs in summer.

Food grown Chinese food in China varies greatly from region to region, with rice being consumed and grown greatly in the southern parts of China, and noodles in northern China. China consumes around 200 million tones of rice every year compared to 9 million tones in Japan. Grains make up 54.7 percent of the Chinese diet, compared to 24.8 percent in the United States. China mainly exports rice and soy beans. Rice is a favourite among the Chinese that live in the south but the people of the north enjoy wheat, which they make in to bread and noodles. Corn, millet, and sorghum are also eaten. Vegetables, like cabbage and tofu rank second. Tea is the most popular drink in China. Grains are the main foods in China.
