Numeracy and Mathematics P5, P6 and P7

Number and number processes Having determined which calculations are needed, I can solve problems involving whole numbers using a range of methods, sharing my approaches and solutions with others. MNU 2-03a Multiples, factors and primes Having explored the patterns and relationships in multiplication and division, I can investigate and identify the multiples and factors of numbers. MTH 2-05a Refer to cluster common language and methodology.  Know by heart all multiplication facts for all tables to 10.  Derive quickly and accurately multiplication and related division facts 7 x 8 = 56, 8 x 7 = 56, 56 ÷ 7 = 8, 56 ÷ 8 = 7  Say a division statement corresponding to a given multiplication statement and vice versa.  Understand and use the terms: multiple, factor, product.  Respond quickly to oral questions phrased in a variety of ways: nine sevens, 6 times 7, 5 multiplied by 9, multiply 9 by 6, divide 38 by 9, find the product of 5 and 3, one seventh of 35?  Multiply 2 digit numbers by 2-9 with carrying.  Divide 2 digit numbers by 2-9, including remainders.  Divide 2 digit numbers by 2-9, exchanging tens and units and including remainders.  Multiply and divide by 10 using the appropriate method and apply to 2 and 3 digit numbers.  Solve word problems identifying the appropriate calculations. Curriculum for Excellence Skills Framework Numeracy and Mathematics

Fractions, decimal fractions and percentages I can solve problems by carrying out calculations with a wide range of fractions, decimal fractions and percentages, using my answers to make comparisons and informed choices for real-life situations. MNU 3-07a Number and number processes I can continue to recall number facts quickly and use them accurately when making calculations. MNU 3-03b Refer to cluster common language and methodology  Change percentages  fractions.  Calculate percentages of numbers using the fractional equivalent.  Calculate percentages of quantities mentally.  Find 10% and 1% and use this to calculate percentages of quantities.  Use a calculator to find a percentage of a quantity.  Express one quantity as a percentage of another e.g. 25 out of 40 in a test.  Make decisions and choices based on their answers to calculations including real-life situations where appropriate.
