Using The Scientific Method In Research Writing Ms. Ruth, World Literature

There are four basic steps in research Observation (What is the area that sparks your interest? Why?) Hypothesis (What are you assuming will happen? What results are you hoping to achieve?) Testing (Develop a strategy to locate information that will assist you in proving your point Hypothesis) Prediction (As a result of your research, what are your expectations? In other words, what conclusions will you draw or do you hope that others will receive because of your writing and research?)

Additional Information Choose a topic. (Make it as specific as possible) Choose a research method (Write down the method in steps including all tools that will apply.) Tools include personal interviews, pictures, statistics, newspaper articles, magazines, library resources.

Creating Your Essay Use the information from your outline to create your essay. Each Topic should be the beginning of a new paragraph. In total you need five paragraphs to complete your paper. Three quotes must be included in your paper. A works cited page will also be required.
