What Now? Determine what schools meet your academic and athletic requirements Contact those coaches via Don’t be afraid to “brag” coaches may not know anything about you unless you list your accomplishments Provide A link to YouTube with a short clip (about 5 min) of competing in your sport, have DVD copies available if Coach’s requests it Broaden your search (outside of California) May be able to walk-on as a student-athlete and gain all the benefits of a scholarship player Be realistic, make sure that your goals are within reach Have a back up plan

Choosing the right College Not only about money, Important to find the right fit College life, majors, team, coaches, school location, reputation of school and team Make sure to get information in writing (no student is given a full ride for 4-5 years) Verbal commitments do not guarantee scholarship, must sign an Official National Letter of Intent (NLI)

“Student-Athlete” High School as well as College Athletes, are first and foremost, Students Academic success will give you the tools needed to become an effective “Student-Athlete” 2% of High School Student Athletes will receive an Athletic Scholarship-Both parents & student- Athletes need to have realistic expectations about scholarships and playing at the college level

Thank You! Thanks for attending Questions?
