Homework Homework is assigned to provide practice and reinforcement skills - items are familiar to the students. Return on XX in the homework folder… Names, please! And neatness counts. Although homework is in Chinese, you can assist your child by ensuring s/he has time and a dedicated space to complete work; you can reinforce concepts in English. Spelling words test – Every Friday (Parents help practice at home based on Weekly newsletter-Only Chinese) Extra: if the students can’t finish the classroom work, then they may take it home and finish it at home *

Splash! We take care of their Chinese, you take care of their English. Literacy Rotation in Chinese 20 minutes – reading 20 minutes – writing 20 minutes – word study English class – ELA at school may leave homework too So please help with your child with their English at home. We take care of their Chinese, you take care of their English.

Daily folder Your child will bring home a folder each day with information for you from the teacher and from the school, as well as homework. We will also write your child’s progress as well. Chinese Literacy Language is not a stand alone subject --- it is the medium through which core subjects are taught. Chinese literacy integrates topics, concepts and vocabulary from science, math and social studies as the relevant topics around which to learn language. *

Curriculum Maps K-5 Grade level Curriculum Maps are a teaching tool. They provide a framework for teaching standards-aligned vocabulary and sentence patterns across all core subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts) which students need to know in order to understand content.
