Oracle Policy Change Thursday, April 8, 2010 – Oracle published a new support schedule for App Server 10gR2 —Original dates: Premier Support (no cost) ends Dec Extended Support (potential extra cost) ends Dec Sustaining Support after 2011 —New dates: Premier Support ends Dec No Extended Support Sustaining Support after 2011 Oracle did not publicize the change beyond some of their product manager blogs SGHE notified clients on Friday, April 9 via BANNOUNCE and BORACLE messages Summit presentations were updated to include the new dates

Client Impact Previous SGHE message to clients: —By the end of 2010, Banner customers should upgrade to the following to remain on Premier Support: Banner 8.X Oracle Database 11g Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Revised message: 1)Upgrade to Banner 8.X by April 30, 2011 – end of life for Banner 7.X 2)Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g by July 31, )Upgrade to Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g by Dec. 31, 2011 —Do not procrastinate – the sooner you upgrade, the better

Open Issues Clients are asking if Banner 8.2 will be supported with Fusion Middleware 11g —As of 4/16/10, Banner 8.3 is the minimum supported release —Many non-U.S. clients face a delay in upgrading to 8.3 due to localizations/translations delivered by the Solution Centres —We are investigating support for 8.2; it appears likely that we will announce support in May 2010 SGHE requires clients to be on DB11g before upgrading to FM11g. DB11g is not available for all Banner platforms yet. Affected clients are asking us to support DB10gR2 with FM11g —The requested combination produces errors in our test environment. —We will re-examine this situation in Q2 and determine if it is possible for us to provide support
