Citizenship is like a contract citizens agree to do their duties and responsibilities in exchange for protection of freedoms from the government.

Citizenship Requirements for citizenship 6 requirements: -been a legal citizen for 5 years -of good moral character (not a criminal) -can read, write, speak simple English -18 years old -willing to swear loyalty to US -knowledgeable about US govt.
