 As much as 40%of U.S. homeless youth identify as LGBT  18% of children in foster care are LGBT youth  26% of LGBT youth who come out to their parents are kicked out of their home  30% of LGBT youth reported physical violence by their family after coming out

 Nearly 9 out of 10 LGBT students experienced harassment at school in the past year  60.8% of LGBT students felt unsafe at school because of their sexual orientation  32.7% students skipped a day of school in the past month because they felt unsafe  Gay students hear anti-gay slurs up to 26 times daily; faculty intervene in about 3% of the cases.  28% of LGBT students drop out of high school (triple the national rate)

 Suicide is the leading cause of death among LGBT youth  36.5% of LGBT youth grades 9-12 have attempted suicide  LGBT youth are 2 to 6 times more likely to attempt suicide than heterosexual youth  Over 30% of all reported teen suicides each year are committed by LGBT youth
