THE HEALTH TRIANGLE Physical Vocational SocialMental/Emotio nal

PHYSICAL HEALTH How well your body functions What are some examples of good physical health? Example: Being able to walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath

SOCIAL HEALTH How well you get along with others What are some examples of good social health? Example: Having a good friend you can share your thoughts and feelings with.

MENTAL/EMOTIONAL HEALTH Being comfortable with yourself, with others and with your surroundings. How you react to evens in your life What are examples of good mental/emotional health? Example: You are sad when your dog dies.

VOCATIONAL HEALTH Working (or volunteering or studying) in an area that you are particularly suited or qualified. What are examples of good vocational health Example: I am a teacher because I enjoy working with young adults and am passionate about my subject matter.

WELLNESS Look at the health continuum on pg 5 of your text. Reflect on where on the health continuum you fall for physical, mental/emotional, social, and vocational health? On a half sheet of paper, write down three specific actions you could take to move yourself closer to “wellness” on the health continuum. You do not need to include your name. Please turn in to the box when you are finished.
