Regional Development Regional Development PROJECT NAME: Industrial Zones Development Program GOAL: Identify and enhance Serbia’s investment potentials in industrial zones; attract new investments RESULTS: 1. Map existing and potential industrial zones in Serbia 2. Create user-friendly Step-by-Step Guide (on how to establish the IZ) 3. Prepare few feasibility studies for development of specific industrial zones 4. Equip few selected industrial zones with the primary infrastructure 5. Train industrial zone managers and municipal officials on how to govern the IZ; conduct study tours to the industrial zones in EU/US 6. Create targeted IZ investors’ profile 7. Launch a public awareness campaign in promoting investment potentials of IZ 8. Create a tailor-made approach to convert few mature IZ into fully fledged and operational industrial parks DURATION OF THE PROJECT: 12 months VALUE: 2 million EUR

Identify specific economic investment potentials on Danube Serbia region (create a map and a database of all project ideas) 2. Develop specific investment projects - a project pipeline (e.g. a feasibility study for a specific project) 3. Identify target investors and create investor outreach strategy; 4. Conduct public awareness campaign (e.g. Invest in Danube Serbia brochure; investment fairs) 5. Implement few specific economic development and tourist development projects from project- pipeline DURATION OF THE PROJECT: 36 months VALUE: 5 million EUR

Establish a Programming and Project Preparation Unit at RD Sector 2. Prepare the RD Sector for establishment of Serbian ERDF 3. Launch Regional Outreach Communication Project (create and distribute Regional Economic Development Activities Newsletter) 4. Establish Economic Development Project Information Monitoring System 5. Hold thematic annual Regional Development Conference and a Fair DURATION OF THE PROJECT: 36 months VALUE: 3.5 million EUR

Regional Development Regional Development PROJECT NAME: MISP (Municipal Infrastructure Support Program)- IPA 2008 GOAL: Better management of municipal infrastructure services and enhanced investments at local level in order to support balanced regional development RESULTS : 1. Conduct policy seminars on infrastructure services reform issues; enhance inter and intra- municipal cooperation for different infrastructure services; coordinate preparation of relevant municipal documentation for future role and responsibilities of PCUs 2. Prioritise municipal infrastructure projects for future EC funding support and prepare feasibility studies for selected projects 3. Prepare relevant procedures and train municipal and PUC staff on infrastructure programming procedures, budgeting and responsibilities of municipalities for municipal infrastructure 4. Review and update feasibility studies prepared for the investment projects, review and update existing design and tender documents for all works contracts as well as the service contract for construction supervision and supervise all works contracts 5. Grant fund for implementation of the selected infrastructure projects DURATION OF THE PROJECT: 36 months VALUE: 35 million EUR

Establish inter-institutional/ministerial co-ordination structure(s) and support preparation of strategic coherence framework 2. Set institutional and legislative framework for management of IPA regional development component (e.g. create job descriptions, work programmes, operations manuals, pertinent legislation, establish implementing structures etc.) 3. Develop and conduct full training programme for improvement of capacities for efficient management and implementation of IPA regional development component DURATION OF THE PROJECT: 24 months VALUE: 1.5 million EUR
