About Sandia National Laboratories Our Business: National Security Core Purpose: To help our nation secure a peaceful and free world through technology. Highest Goal: To become the laboratory that the United States turns to first for technology solutions to the most challenging problems that threaten peace and freedom for our nation and the globe.

Sandia is Mission-Driven We serve many agencies of the US Government: Design and development of nonnuclear portions of US nuclear weapons Production of advanced components Safety, security, use control Treaty verification, nonproliferation, counter-proliferation Advanced military technologies Energy and environment  Homeland security, countering weapons of mass destruction

Energy, Water, Transportation and Environment Security Enabled by Science & Technology Secure energy supplies for national security Clean, abundant and affordable energy Water research Systems Analysis & Red Teaming Infrastructure protection

For Lemnos - Sandia has Provided: Primary technical research, prototype architecture, and design input to the project; originally developed in the OPSAID project for the DOE/NSTB Program The reference model for testing and demonstration with partners & participating vendors Collaboration on common requirements definitions & development of Interoperable Configuration Profiles (ICPs)

Why Sandia Participation in the Lemnos Project ? Lemnos provided an industry-based set of requirements for guidance to continue the research necessary to meet those requirements. Know that Sandia is providing the capabilities needed by industry. Lemnos provided a realistic testbed outside our Lab environment. Teaming with partners and participating vendors has provided a good broad range of capabilities for the continued evaluation of Sandia’s reference model. Sandia can offer solutions to the Challenges defined in the Roadmap to Secure Control Systems in the Energy Sector Accomplish the transfer of technology from Laboratory research to real-world industry application.
