Surface driven phase transitions and processes involving polymer systems Andrzej Pawlak Coordinator: Andrzej Gałęski Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, Łódź, Poland Subject: Interfacial phenomena in materials Instrument: STREP

Crystallization in polymer systems: -nucleation- size and confinement effects, - in contact with atomically flat surfaces. Orientational crystallization in nanocomposites. Formation of oriented thin layers on solid surfaces by zone casting Crystallization of inorganic crystals controlled by copolymers – for design of particles: size and shape, controlled by blocking of crystal growth faces Structure formation in polymer blend films: - surface and interfacial phenomena (interactions, instabilities) in structure formation (during spin-casting, thermal annealing) -pattern-directed (soft lithographic) structure alignment inside films (nano-, meso-) on model polymers
