Whats Ink Made of?

Compounds and Mixtures? What is Ink made of?? How would you find out?

Chromatography Get a beaker, paper strip, pen/marker About 2cm from one end of the paper, draw a line perpendicular to the paper Put about 1cm of water in the beaker Suspend the paper in the beaker so the bottom of the paper is in the water, BUT NOT the ink stripe

Watch What is happening? Describe. When it looks finished – take it out. Describe. Try another color

What if it didnt do anything…. Aha, permanent ink pen… we can try another solvent. Try it.
