PLEA Paragraph

Point The point of your paragraph is your main claim. It is usually the answer to the question or prompt.

Link The link is background information that connects your point and evidence.

Evidence The evidence is a specific example from the text or another source (quote, summary, etc.) that supports your point. You must cite your evidence using the following format: (Author’s Last Name pg #).

Analysis The analysis is your explanation of your evidence and its relationship to your point. Explain how your evidence proves your point.
