Ancient Greece 3000 B.C. to A.D. 395/ Important Events c B.C. Minoan culture develops on Crete B.C. Greek colonists established city- states B.C. Athens and Sparta fight each other in the Peloponnesian war. Sparta defeats Athens A.D. 395 Greece becomes part of the east Roman empire.

Culture The Greeks were polytheistic. Polytheistic means they believe in more than one god. Men ran the government, women ran the home, children went to school. Women had very little freedom outside the home. The exception was in Sparta. Clothing was very simple. Greeks loved story-telling, music and plays.
