Slide 3 A spec needs changing … start Identify the spec Download to own PC Download CR cover page

Slide 4 Follow the instructions on the CR cover page and on the web to prepare the Change Request. Optionally, distribute to WG via exploder. Wait for comments Deadline for comments reached WG delegate comments Revise CR. Ready for WG meeting

Slide 5 Prepare formal Tdoc to WG meeting. Request Tdoc number Use Tdoc number. Wait for Tdoc no. Receive request. Idle (ha!) Grant Tdoc number Idle This process is being automated via web application. CR number may have been granted at same time as TDoc number, or may wait till CR is agreed by WG. Record details of CR in CR database (WG-specific).

Slide 6 Present CR to WG meeting. Agree CR. Update CR database (WG- specific). CR agreed. CRs may be accumulated over several WG meetings between two TSG meetings. Check CR for consistency. Conforms to instructions in 3GPP TRs and ? Does not conflict with other CRs?

Slide 7 CR agreed. All CR entries for WG.CR entries for all WGs. Idle (ha!) Thus must happen before the start of the TSG meeting. Update master database Ready for TSG. Idle TSG plenary approaches …

Slide 8 Ready for TSG. TSG plenary starts … Present CRs to TSG. This may actually be done by WG chairman. Discuss and approve (or reject, etc) CRs. Idle Update master database. Idle Ready to implement CR.

Slide 9 Ready to implement CR. TSG plenary has finished … Download Spec from server. Edit spec to incorporate all CRs. Completed spec to Specs Manager. Record receipt of Spec. Idle All done?

Slide 10 Idle Update master database to indicate “supplied”. Plausibility check on edited spec. (Date, version number, references, change history, page layout, etc.) Make file available on 3GPP server (and MCC- internal mirror) in: Meeting-related directory; “Latest” directory; Archive directory. Update master database to indicate “available”. Time is off the essence: beware deadline for spec availability!

Slide 11 Spec relates to a frozen Release? Send to ETSI for transposition as ETSI TS/TR. Idle Is for publication? Y Y N N Certain TRs are internal working documents of TSGs. Other SDOs retrieve Spec from 3GPP file server.
