Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome Taybi, while in pedi radiology training in 1955, recognized RTS in 7 unrelated children, described it in 1957, identified as a recognizable syndrome with Dr. Jack Rubinstein in 1963 Broad thumbs and great toes, facial abnormalities and mental retardation Caused by a deletion or mutation of the short arm of EP300 gene Over 400 cases reported with this syndrome since 1963
