In 2014 the Chesapeake Chapter held tutorials on current topics of interest to the Systems Engineer and more are planned for Communication Opportunities Chesapeake maintains communications with its members using flyers, , and a website. You can obtain information, using the forum of your choice, and contribute in ways most convenient to you in collaborating with other Systems Engineers who are INCOSE members. PURPOSE The purpose of the Chesapeake Chapter is to foster the definition, understanding, and practice of world class systems engineering in industry, academia, and government. The Chapter provides a focal point for dissemination of systems engineering knowledge, and through involvement with the International Council on Systems Engineering we: GOALS and OBJECTIVES  Ensure the existence of professional standards for the practice of systems engineering,  Improve the professional status of all persons engaged in the practice of systems engineering,  Encourage governmental and industrial collaboration and support for research and educational programs that will improve the systems engineering process and its practice, and  Promote the acquisition and exchange of information on new technology, methods and practices within the systems engineering community. Universities The Chesapeake Chapter frequently engages with local universities such as UMD-College Park, JHU, UMD-Baltimore County. These engagements take the form of Special Events, Sponsorships, and Collaborations adding value for both the chapter members and the students of the institutions. Scholarships The Chesapeake Chapter sponsors scholarships to engineering students within the greater Baltimore region. Universities The Chesapeake Chapter frequently engages with local universities such as UMD-College Park, JHU, UMD-Baltimore County. These engagements take the form of Special Events, Sponsorships, and Collaborations adding value for both the chapter members and the students of the institutions. Join us every 3 rd Wednesday – typically at JHU APL at 6 PM for dinner and 7 PM for the free lecture.
