Joshua’s Farewell Joshua: Choose to fear the Lord and serve him People: We will Joshua: No you won’t- you can’t! People: Yes we will Joshua: Then you are your own witnesses to this choice People: Yes we are Joshua: Then throw away all other gods and give your hearts to God People: We will serve the Lord our God and obey Him.

Choice: Whom Will You Serve?

Joshua saw the challenge! Even the “faithful” will choose to be “faithless”

And if it is evil (undesirable) in your eyes to serve the Lord… …then choose this day whom you will serve, whether

…the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell

Challenge: BACK TO THE PAST GODS FORWARD TO THE PRESENT GODS STAY WITH THE TRUE GOD!

PAST GODS Blatant: Former sins or addictions Subtle: Former feelings (Social Media)

PRESENT GODS Blatant: secularism, pluralism Subtle: What else besides God do you need to be successful? (Family, Finances, Feelings)

True God is slowly ignored 31% decrease in worship attendance in 10 years in Saginaw 200% increase in Americans who profess no faith in 25 years.

Whom Will You Serve?

The Charge: Joshua 24:23 “Then put away the foreign gods that are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord God of Israel.”
