CATALYST FOR GROWTH Traditionally, the drivers of economic growth and wealth creation lay in the domain of land, labour and capital. Malaysia has shifted its focus as follows: a factor-driven economy entrenched in agriculture and mining an investment-driven economy focusing on manufacturing, banking and real estate an innovation and knowledge-driven economy to ensure that the country remains ahead of the competition. NATIONAL INNOVATION STRATEGY Pockets of innovation do exist, evident from the country being ranked 28 out of 132 countries in the Global Innovation Index ( ) by the European Institute for Business Administration. However, for innovation to become the driver in new-wealth creation and a potent force in development, it has to become part of the national psyche. It has to cut across all barriers and permeate to every level of Malaysian society. Source: Agensi Inovasi Malaysia

THE FME DESIGN PACKAGE ENGINEERING DRAWING INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN COMPONENT DESIGN SYSTEM DESIGN This subject introduces student to the use of technical drawing in an effective way for communicating and integrating with engineering concepts. At the end of the course, student should be able to apply the skill and knowledge of engineering drawing to interpret design, using graphics method such as geometric drawing, orthographic projection, isometric, machine drawing, detailed drawing, and basic CAD software.

THE FME DESIGN PACKAGE ENGINEERING DRAWING INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN COMPONENT DESIGN SYSTEM DESIGN This course is designed to expose student to the concepts and methods to develop an efficient design process and applying it to solve engineering design problems creatively and effectively. At the end of the course the students should be able to produce the best solution to satisfy the requirements of the problem.

THE FME DESIGN PACKAGE ENGINEERING DRAWING INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN COMPONENT DESIGN SYSTEM DESIGN This course is designed to expose students to analysis in machine design element failure theories. This includes failures due to static and fatigue loads. It involves fatigue strength and endurance level, modified stress, Goodman diagram and fatigue design under tensile and combined stresses. The content will encompass the design and selection of bolts, welding, spring, ball and roller bearing, gears and belts. At the end of the course, a student should have the capabilities to identify, make analysis and design the machine elements in the perspective of static and fatigue failure aspect.

THE FME DESIGN PACKAGE ENGINEERING DRAWING INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN COMPONENT DESIGN SYSTEM DESIGN This is a Capstone Course. Student are required to utilize engineering knowledge with interdisciplinary engagement of other areas and generic skills to produce a design solution to a scenario-based problem.
