Formation of an ICT Committee Sensitization of parents Diagnosis of ICT literacy of parents Sensitization session with students Training workshop for staff Creation of a School Wiki Weekly HOD meetings to monitor/ assess ICT implementation process Integration of ICT in lessons Use of ICT in assembly messages, staff meetings Acquisition and installation of infrastructure

Problems Encountered

Solutions Lack of confidence by some staff members:  In-house training  effective use of departmental planning sessions  reward system Lack of parental support:  Open Days  Increased partnering with PTA & LSB to provide training sessions for parents Safety of hardware: Sensitize students, parents, staff

Need for a dedicated support staff for proper supervision/ troubleshooting:  Timetable capable & willing personnel  Utilize resources of LSB/ Business community  Involve ICT Committee Increase in the duties/ responsibilities of all staff:  Encourage buy-in of ICT programme  Use ICT to reduce workload (use of internet in the creation of lesson plans etc.),  Explore benefits of ICT to assist in classroom management etc.

Misuse of technology by students:  Increase monitoring  Promote positive use by students with the introduction of incentives such as awards/prizes  Enforcement of disciplinary measures

Plans for the Future Short term (within 1 year):  Training of staff  Continued sensitization of students, parents  Use ICT to facilitate communication with parents Medium term (2-3 years):  Upgrade of infrastructure  School Database Long term (4-5 years):  Full integration of ICT  Digitization of all administrative files
