ULTRA PIXELS ULTRA PIXELS The future of resolutions A SEMINAR ON

Table of Contents  1. What is Resolution?  2. Current technology in resolution.  3. Types of Resolution  4. Difference between HD & UHD Resolution.  5.4K & 8K resolution.  6. Pixel size.  7. Example of UHD.  8. Benefits of UHD  9.Applications.  10.Conclusion.

What is resolution?  Resolution is slightly ambiguous term.  Context for this project is Digital Resolution.  Digital Image resolution is usually defined as the pixel count. (Width x Height)  TV: Standard Definition: 486X440 – 640x480 to 852x480  TV: Hi Definition: 1366x768 – 1920x

Current Technology  HD Televisions  1336x768 to 60Hz – 240Hz  24 – 30 FPS  720x576 – FPS  Computer & Laptop Monitors  -120Hz  Connections: HDMI, DVI, VGA, Display Port, Thunderbolt 2

W HAT I S HD Resolution  The high definition comes in two flavors which are 720p (HD ready) and 1080p (Full HD).  Both standards offer more picture information than the standard definition formats.  The more pixels that make up an image, the more detail you see - and the smoother the appearance of curved and diagonal lines.  A high pixel count also enables images to go larger before they break up, which suits the trend to bigger TVs.  The real difference between 720p and 1080p is the minimum viewing distance from TV about two meters.  Increasing pixel density leads to closer viewing distance without the pixel grid becoming obvious to viewer. 4

W HAT I S Ultra HD Resolution  Ultra HD takes that on to the next level.  A 4K image - or Ultra HD - enables user to sit 1.6m from the screen.  The Pixel Resolution we get ends up being 3840 x  In 8K – or Ultra HD, its 7680 X

4K Resolution  Defined as Ultra High Definition Television (Ultra HD, UHD, UHDTV)  Standard Has been approved for 4K (3840x2160) & 8K (7680x4320) resolutions  4 and 8 times as many pixels as standard HD.  Better color representation & higher frame rate support (120fps)  Upscaling from lower sources is easier. 6

4K Resolution Specifications  "Ultra High-Definition", or "Ultra HD",  Have an aspect ratio of at least 16:9  Can present native video at a minimum resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels.  4K UHDTV (2160p) is 3840 pixels wide by 2160 pixels tall (8.3 megapixels), which is four times more pixels than 1920 x 1080 (2.1 megapixels). 8.3 MegaPixels 4K 7

8K Resolution Specifications  8K UHDTV (4320p) is 7680 pixels wide by 4320 pixels tall (33.2 megapixels), which is sixteen times more pixels than current 1080p HDTV, which brings it closer to the detail level of 15/70 mm IMAX.  The p in 2160p and 4320p stands for progressive scan or non-interlaced MegaPixels 8K 8

9

Example of Ultra Pixel 10

Benefits of Ultra HD  Crams 8 Million Pixels.  Larger Screen Size.  Bigger Impact on Huge Display.  Better and Smooth Picture Quality.  Offers a wider color gamut and greater bit depth. 11

Applications  Digital Cinema  Gaming  Cameras  Televisions 12

 Offered extra resolution so image quality better  We are eager to see the bandwidth that will be needed as well as the possible new media formats that will accompany.  Ultra High Defination Movies should look Awesome ! CONCLUSION 13
