A Giant Country China is the third largest country in land size. More than one billion people live in China. Most live in the eastern part of the country. There are several mountain ranges. They have invented a lot of things.

Beijing Beijing is the capital of China. Buildings in the Forbidden City have yellow roofs. Yellow was a special color in the past.

The Great Wall The Great Wall is the longest object ever built. Five horses can walk side by side on the wall. Visitors can walk on top.

Animals of China There are many animals. Farmers raise ducks and geese. Camels carry people. Giant pandas live in China.

Chinese Food Most people eat with chopsticks. Chopsticks are thin. They eat fish. Tea is served at every meal.

Going to School School begins at age four. Schools are open six days a week. There are no school buses. There are many kindergartens.

Life at Home Most people live in large cities. Apartments share kitchens. Houses in the country are made of mud or clay. They travel by bicycle.

Chinese Sports Most people enjoy exercise and sports. Many people do morning exercises in the park. They do exercises as a group.
