Project Citizen Committee Formation: Where can you best serve our cause?

Committee 1: Explaining the Problem Students on this committee are responsible for: –Explaining the problem –Explaining why the problem is important and providing evidence –Deciding what level of government or governmental agency should be involved

Committee 2: Alternative Policies Students on this committee are responsible for: –Explaining present policies in other places related to the problem –Providing new alternatives to the problem –Providing advantages and disadvantages of the policies –Finding people who would support this policy

Committee 3: Class Policy Students in this group would be responsible for: –Developing the class-selected policy from the given options –Justifying the class-selected policy using evidence (charts, graphs, newspaper articles, interviews, news stories, et cetera)

Committee 4: Action Plan Students on this committee would be responsible for: –Deciding what means we as a class may use to publicize our policy –Figure out and establish the possible means of getting our policy into the public Who can we call? Who can we write to? How can we make this a public issue?

Each group should have 1 Leader 1 Assistant Leader 2 Note takers 2 Proofreaders Each group needs to keep all documents, rough drafts, graphics, etc. in their assigned bin.
