Strategies that utilize positive interventions and reinforcement to achieve positive behavior change in individuals and in the school as a whole.

What is the main goal of PBS: To create and sustain a school environment that improves lifestyle results (personal, health, social, academic, work, etc.) for all students by making problem behavior less effective, efficient and relevant, while making desired behavior more functional.

Who is the Positive Behavior Support Team? The Principal The Guidance Counselor A teacher representative from each grade level (elementary, middle, high school) A behavior analyst An instructional assistant representative A District Coach

What are the tasks of the PBS Team: Establish and maintain consistent staff commitment to utilizing positive behavioral interventions Continuously assess behavioral management practices at the school to assure effectiveness Examine patterns of behavior (ex: time of day, locations) for effective behavioral interventions Develop and implement a school-wide reward system Establish and maintain parental involvement and support Oversee, monitor and evaluate all the planned objectives and activities that are developed by the team
