Welcome to the Information Age  Real Simple Syndication (RSS) – technology that allows users to stream headlines from favorite websites to a blog reader.  The RSS icon (pictured below) indicates a website is RSS accessible.

Using RSS with Outlook

 Find and click RSS icon on website of interest

 Occasionally, the RSS icon will be replaced with these words, which will occur near the bottom of a page. Click the link.

 Copy the web address for this new page

 Go to Outlook—Tools—Account Settings

 Click on the tab “RSS Feeds”

 Click the “New” button

 Paste in the web address

 Click “Add,” then click “OK” on the “Options” screen

 A folder for the site should appear in the viewing pane. When the folder is bold, a new item has been posted.
