Saphire Dance Academy! By Bonnie Murphy.

About Saphire... w Saphire is a Dance/ Musical Theatre school. You can do acting, dancing or singing there. There are two teachers Miss Cook and Miss Jewel and they are the dance teachers and Nick and Adam are the singing and drama teachers. You can be any ago ranging from 2-17 to go there. I chose to do my project on Saphire as I go there and I spend all my time down there. We need more people to come, you will make lots of new friends, learn lots of new skills and you will boost your confidence.

Shows coming up... w We have the choreographics coming up soon, this is when we have a competition within the students they can be in duets, solo, trio or groups and they can dance, sing or act to any music or not any music at all it is completely up to them. Its just a friendly competition.

Dance Teachers... w We only have 2 Dance teachers, both female. They both have qualifications for all types of dancing. I have been dancing with these dance teachers since I was very young (3 years old). They are very good and not too strict. They teach you well and make sure that before they move on everyone has the steps and knows what to do. I would definitely recommend them!

Musical Theatre Teachers... w We only have 2 musical theatre teachers too, but both male. Nick and adam are stil quite young but they have a lot of talent. They direct in the westend and also fit in teaching us kids. Nick is the singer and adam is the director. They put on a really good show and make sure everyone knows what they are doing. They also are very sociable and make you fit in if you are new.

Timetable...

Clothes... w Ballet: baby pink(peach) tights and a maroon leotard with ballet shoes. w Tap: All in one suite with tap shoes. w Contemporary: All in one suite with jazz shoes. w Modern: All in one suite with jazz shoes. w Show troupe/musical theatre: anything preferably black and a Saphire jumper if you have one.

Age Range... w The age range is from years old as at 3 the children can walk and they can follow instruction and at 17 the students will leave to go to dance college or train to be what they would like to be.

Location... w Saphire Dance Academy is placed in leigh city school’s dance studio’s. This is a good place to locate a dance centre as they have changing rooms, toilet and they are proper dance studio’s.There is also a gym underneath the studio’s where the parents can go while their child(ren) are dancing. It is also a easy place to find as it is a school and if some children go to Leigh City school already they can go straight to their dance classes as it is in the same building. There is also goals right next door so if the parents don’t really fancy going to the gym they can go to goals and relax/have a drink or socialize. It is also in Dartford which is a very popular place so if you don’t want to go home why the children are dancing you can always pop to dartford for some last minute shopping.
