Enabling Grids for E-sciencE INFSO-RI NEC2005, Varna, T. Strizh, September 17, Dissemination and Outreach is one of the key areas of the EGEE (“Enabling Grid for E-science”) project. In order for the project to succeed, it is vital to proactively raise awareness of EGEE, attract interest and ultimately participation in the project from the academic community, business and government. NA2 is the area of the project, dedicated to these activities.

Involving other biological institutions in the EGEE-RDIG infrastructure; KIAM RAS (Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics of Russian Academy of Sciences Moscow) - leading partner for dissemination in the field of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. Preparation of introductory and advanced documentation on architecture, common services and other basic GRID services. Translation of basic Grid technologies papers into Russian.

Strizh, September 17, Conferences The first major Grid conference in Russia, hosted by Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, has been hailed a success. The conference, distributed Computing and Grid- technologies in Science and Education, took place in Dubna, Russia, between 29 June and 2 July 2004, and attracted more than 200 participants from Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Slovakia, Armenia, Germany, Czech Republic and Belarus.
