Early Life Dr. King was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. His father was named Michael Luther King Sr. ( ) and his mother is Alberta Christine Williams King ( ).

Brothers & Sisters King had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. His 2 sisters are named Yolanda Denise (November 17, 1955, Montgomery, Alabama), and Bernice Albertine (March 28, 1963, Atlanta, Georgia) His 2 brothers are named Martin Luther III (October 23, 1957, Montgomery, Alabama) and Dexter Scott (January 30, 1961, Atlanta, Georgia).

Education He was 5 years old when he started school, before reaching the legal age of 6. He went to Yonge Street Elementary School in Atlanta. He also attend Atlanta University Laboratory School and Booker T. Washington High School. He attend Morehouse College at age 15, skipping ninth and twelfth grade.

Kennedy Award, from the Catholic Interracial Council of Chicago, The Nobel Peace Prize, at age 35, the youngest man, second American, and the third black man to be so honored, The Marcus Garvey Prize for Human Rights, presented by the Jamaican Government, posthumously, The Rosa L. Parks award, presented by The Southern Christian Leadership Conference, posthumously, The Aims Field-Wolf Award for his book, Stride Toward Freedom.

James Earl Ray "I think he was set up. I want to see him before he dies and I want to tell him, 'Don't feel too bad. They used you. A lot of people gave their life for Martin Luther King, but they took your life from you." -Hosea Williams (One of Dr. Kings closest Associates.) James Earl Ray, 70 years old, has been in prison for almost 30 years for a crime he did not commit. He pled guilty to the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King in 1968, but he didnt do it and has been pushing for a trial ever since. The King family and others want to see the true killers brought to justice. James Earl Ray, however, has died from liver failure. He needed a transplant in order to live.

James Earl Ray Bio. James Earl Ray was born on March 10, 1928 Was born in Alton, Illinois and went to Ewing, Montana high school in 1944 were he dropped out. He later joined the military when he was later discharged for ineptness and lack of adaptability. He had also spent a great deal of time in jail for a great deal of offenses including disorderly conduct, burglary, robbery. Obviously Ray was a criminal and had a criminal's mind, but some think he did not commit King's murder. The people who believed this included the King family. James Earl Ray Died on April 23, 1998.
