Beginning with Absolute Purity Luke 4:1-13

The Humility of the Body The temptation to satisfy personal desires over God’s Word. The physical hunger was extreme at 40 days. Jesus demonstrated faith that God would sustain Him.

The Humility of the Body The temptation to satisfy personal desires over God’s Word. The temptation that the end justifies the means. The kingdoms of the world would be His eventually. He wouldn’t have to mean it, just go through the motions. Jesus demonstrated a strong respect for the Scriptures and devotion to God.

The Humility of the Body The temptation to satisfy personal desires over God’s Word. The temptation that the end justifies the means. The temptation to twist Scripture for personal gain. The Scripture satan quoted was true Jesus demonstrated walking by faith and not by sight

What does that mean to me? I need to have faith that God will sustain me and faithfulness is more important than what I may want. I need to have a strong respect for the Scripture. I need to be faithful in the means and the end. I need to be cautious that my use of Scripture is accurate, and not convenient. I need to walk by faith, not by sight.
