Public Health Vaccinations Revolving Fund Board of Health, Sudbury, Massachusetts 2015 Article 12

Why Revolving Fund? Able to use reimbursements from Medicare and private insurers for vaccine purchase Revolving funds are used as a mechanism to purchase vaccines in Burlington, Natick, Wayland, Newton, Weston, and Wellesley Goal is to expand vaccine program beyond flu and offer new clinics for shingles, pneumococcal, TDAP, and for pandemic response to disease Ease of response to pandemic disease Reimbursements will be used to offset the health department’s budget allocation for annual vaccine purchase

Why have Vaccine Program? Vaccinate public to prevent disease Outbreak vaccination for the Town of Sudbury (i.e.H1N1, Measles) Decreased amount of vaccine supplied by the Department of Public Health. Current State allocation for flu vaccine is 50 doses limited to uninsured adults Offer vaccines that are not available from private physicians Accessibility
