Presentation transcript:

It all started when teacher put us into groups. When we were in our groups we had to come up with 3 ideas. When our groups came up with 3 ideas that were helpful in our everyday lives, we had to pick one. After we picked our ideas, we started buying accessories in order to make a sample of our idea for the presentation to the Dragons.

The dragons came to our class on the 21 st of January It was very educational and interesting. Dragons Ms. B. Lawlor Ms. M. Behan Ms. R. O’Sullivan

We presented our ideas to the Dragons:  Message Mugs.  Cool keys and magnets.  Customised Phone Cases.  Animal Jars.  Sweet Jars. They chose the Animal Jars.

Natasha Martin came to our class to share her story and to give us advice on how to make our product a success. Natasha told us advantages and disadvantages about being an entrepreneur. There were lots of questions asked and we all learned a lot about her business so far.She gave us some ideas on our own product.

We learned about the importance of market research in business. We created a survey and surveyed 48 people. We asked people what they would like on the jars, we asked them what they would like in the jars - sweets were the most popular by far and we also surveyed people about the price they were willing to pay for our product.

*We learned how important it is that every person knows what their skills and strengths are. *We thought about which area of the business we would most like to be in and which we would be most suited to each individual one of us. *The areas are:  Finance  Design and Production  Story-telling  Marketing

*Design and production Team: They were responsible for the production of the product.  They cleaned the jars  Pasted light paper with PVA glue  Painted an undercoat once it was dry  Designed the outside of the jar  Cut circular pieces of the material as lids.

*Finance  Listed materials needed  Calculated how much materials cost  Calculated and collected class investment  Decided how many sweets to be put in every jar  Put sweets in sweet bags  On sale days, made sure cash tallied with amount sold from each class.

*Marketing:  Design of flyers and posters  Created tag line and logo  Created order forms  Created and judged ‘Design a Jar Competition’  Organisation of stall for School and County Showcase Day

*Story-Telling:  Recording the story of the JEP Project  Taking pictures  Interview teams  Create the folder
