WHAT IS A QR CODE? QR or Quick Response Codes Are a type of two dimensional barcode that can be read using smartphones and other QR reading devices that link directly to text, s, websites, phone numbers and more.

WHO INVENTED THE QR CODE? Denso-Wave Subsidiary of the Toyota Group, are credited with the conception of the QR Code as far back as Originally, it was used to track parts in the vehicle manufacturing industry.

WHERE ARE QR CODE READERS POPULAR? QR Codes are popular in: Japan Across the East Slowly gaining steam in the West Where are QR Codes located? Product packaging Shop displays Billboard and printed advertisements s/Websites

Can store up to 7,089 numbers! This allows large amounts of data that enables links to Twitter, Facebook and video pages. WHAT MAKES A QR CODE DIFFERENT FROM A NORMAL 10 UPC BARCODE?

HOW DO YOU SCAN A QR CODE? Smartphones like iPhones, Android or Blackberry have different barcode scanner apps such as: QR Scanner Barcode Scanner Red Laser Most importantly, MOST ARE FREE!! Your phone’s camera scans the barcode which will then load the encoded data.

WHAT CAN BE ENCODED INTO A QR CODE? A QR Code is an “image-based hypertext link” that can be used offline with any URL that can be encoded into the QR Code. Any webpage can be opened automatically by scanning the barcode. Want somebody to follow you on Twitter? Encode your Twitter page as the URL Simple as that! QR Codes can also contain phone numbers, sms messages, V-card data (Virtual business card) or just plain alphanumeric text.
