Panel 1 (300x250) Suggestions for tracking Interaction –Attach an interaction to the “Invite a friend” button to track activity related to that button Send an interaction (see both ebShow and ebInteraction in the Creative Guide) from within the on(release) function attached to the button. ebShow is the most commonly used command to show an additional panel. Timer –If you are tracking total time spent with the ad, you will want to set a timer at this point within the ActionScript (see ebStartTimer.)
Expansion Panel 1 Interaction Tracking –Attach an interaction to the Preview button (ebShow, “panelName”) Variables –Store activity and location for extraction in the data capture portion of the ad
Expansion Panel 2 Interaction Tracking –Attach a custom interaction to the next button (ebShow, “panelName”)
Data Capture form Follow the instructions in the Creative Guide for creating a data capture ad Look at the instructions on setting up the Data Capture Form Fields in the Eyeblaster platform, particularly 5d which explains how to incorporate dynamic data into an HTML . To build out the landing page URL querystring with the correct activity and location variables, you will want to assign the values being captured from your dropdowns to form variables. Variables are sent from the _root level only. (see Note: in Creative guide regarding variables in the Data Capture section.) The send button will need to have two functions attached; ebShow and ebSaveForm, in order to save the form and show the next panel
Confirmation panel Capture your form variables to create your location message and querystring You should not need to put in an interaction on this page since you would know that the user made it here from the previous panel’s ebShow interaction. This is at your discretion.
HTML –To include data from a form submission in an HTML or text , use %field name%. The field name represents the name of the field entered in the Form fields section of the page. –The placeholders, denoted by the %, will be replaced by the values in your form variables –The Data Capture Section at the Campaign level in the Eyeblaster RMP will have place for you to upload the HTML to be used. Examples: –to include a field in your form called "firstName" use %firstName%. –To build the querystring on the View Invitation button with the parameters location and activity use
HTML tracking Tracking Impressions –One of the metrics requested for tracking was how many people opened the –The best way to track this would be to create a tracking flight within that campaign –If you are tracking click-throughs and opens, create two separate tracking flights –To create a tracking flight, follow the instructions in the Eyeblaster Help files within the Eyeblaster RMP or go to s/eyeblaster/creating_a_tracking_flight.ht m s/eyeblaster/creating_a_tracking_flight.ht m –Embed the tracking code into your HTML template
