Bettye Myers Middle School “ Home Away From Home” Welcome Back to School!

WE ARE TITAN PROUD! Welcome to Mr. Wilburn’s 7 th Grade Science Class

WHO AM I? My Name is James Wilburn. I am a graduate of Fannindel High School located in the small town of Ladonia Texas. After graduating from high school I spent a couple of years at Paris Junior College where I received my Associate of Science Degree. Upon graduating from PJC I continued my education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for 1 year before transferring to the University of North Texas where I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in History. This year will be my 11 th year in education. I started out coaching boys athletics and the In School Suspension Coordinator for Calhoun in 2003 I worked in that role for 3 years. I then worked as a School Resource Officer for Collin County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program for 2 years. For the past 6 years I have continued coaching middle school athletics and taught science at the 6 th and 8 th grade level at Calhoun Middle School. I am married to Chandra who is also a teacher at the elementary level and I have 3 daughters, Charity, Kennedi, and Janiyah.
