FACTS VS. DEBATABLE CLAIMS A record 57 million Americans, or 18.1% of the population of the United States, lived in multi-generational family households in 2012, double the number who lived in such households in –RICHARD FRY AND JEFFREY S. PASSEL, Pew Research Center. What arguments could be made from this fact?

Americans are becoming more concerned with caring for their elderly parents. People believe that Nursing homes are not good places for their aging parents. Americans can’t afford nursing homes for their elderly parents. There are not enough nursing homes with openings, so people’s aging parents have to live with them.

WHAT’S AN APPEAL? “To plead” one’s case As in “to appeal” to a higher authority: Supreme Court Constitution God Nature “To please” As in product appeal, sex appeal—something we find agreeable or desirable.
