Pilot catchment & restoration plan 4 pilot catchments (Esk, Dee, Glazert & Nith) Approaching the end of phase 1 – scoping the opportunities for measures delivery Phase 2 - local engagement to discuss detailed design and preparations for implementation will be undertaken now to March 2015 Phase 3 – April 2015 to March 2016 implementation of measures Updates available; nning/implementing_rbmp.aspx nning/implementing_rbmp.aspx Restoration plan is due for publication

Negotiations with landowners are ongoing. Creran will be running a hatchery again this year to protect salmon population. Black Lynn BurnBlack Lynn Burn, Oban Argyll Fisheries Trust, Wild Trout Trust Local community group has done some work here. Wild Trout Trust undertook survey and made some recommendations, first of which was to treat invasive plants. AFT hope to treat next year.

Tadpoles, newts and snails evident in the ponds. SNH have agreed to support monitoring over next 4 years to determine whether crayfish eradicated. Lochy, Coe, Laroch and Nevis Japanese knotweed treatment Lochaber Fishery Trust, RAFTS Some successful treatment of small, isolate stands of Japanese knotweed.

Strontian RiverRe-stocking Strontian river with salmon Lochaber Fishery Trust, Strontian Angling Club and Sunart Community Company Partnership project to re-stock the Strontian River with salmon following population collapse with little sign of natural recovery. 10,000 salmon eggs (from native adults) released this spring and intention to repeat in future years. GlensandaGlensanda Quarry freshwater habitats improvement Lochaber Fishery Trust, Foster Yeoman Looking at potential to improve freshwater habitats on site. Initial report submitted and hope to work with them in coming year.
