Aaliyah Biography On January 16th 1979 the world was blessed with the birth of Aaliyah Dana Haughton in Brooklyn, New York. Aaliyah was raised by her father, mother and brother.

The young singer competed unsuccessfully on the television program Star Search at age 11.

Last Good-Bye Aaliyah Dana Haughton was killed in a plane crash (while shooting her video Rock The Boat) after take off in the Bahamas on Aug 25, She was 22 and died instantly. It wasn't only her it was the pilot and some of her friends.
