Reading: Spain’s climate 6 th Primary Education

Climate: a group of atmospheric phenomena that occur in a particular time and place. Atmospheric phenomena: they are the phenomena that occur in the atmosphere, wind, pressure, precipitation, temperature, humidity... Atmosphere: a layer that surrounds the earth. It is necessary for the development of life on earth. It's filter harmful rays of the sun.

Greenhouse effect: pollution occurs when you create a layer in the atmosphere that make difficult output of the sun's energy to produce a temperature increase on Earth. Weather: is a set of atmospheric phenomena that occur in a place and in a short time (one or two days). CLIMATE = WEATHER

FACTORS IN THE WEATHER Latitude Altitude Proximity to the sea Relief CLIMATE INFLUENCES Landscape Agriculture Livestock Industry Population

OCEANIC CLIMATE MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE CONTINENTAL CLIMATE SUBTROPICAL CLIMATE

OCEAN CLIMATE Location: north and west of Spain. Temperatures: mild winters and cool summers. Precipitation: many.

CONTINENTAL or CONTINENTAL MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE Location: center of Spain. Temperatures: hot summers and cold winters. Rainfall: scarce.

MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE Location: eastern and southern Spain. Temperatures: mild winters and high summer. Rainfall: scarce.

SUBTROPICAL CLIMATE Location: only in the Canary Islands. Temperatures: high throughout the year. Precipitation: very slim.

Read and fill in the gaps Climate: a group of atmospheric phenomena that occur in a _________time and place. Atmospheric phenomena: they are the phenomena that occur in the atmosphere, ___________________________ Atmosphere: a layer that surrounds the earth. It is necessary for the ____________of life on earth. It's filter harmful rays of the _____. Greenhouse effect: _______occurs when you create a layer in the atmosphere that make difficult output of the sun's energy to produce a temperature increase on Earth. Weather: is a set of atmospheric phenomena that occur in a place and in a ______time (one or two days).
