Introduction Our assessment task is to design and create a scaled model of a place. We chose to make an apartment. This task is has been done in groups of 3. In our group we chose to make an apartment containing a sitting area and 2 bedrooms with a connecting bathroom. I did my room. I went took measurements and scaled them down using ratio. We had a common scale between all of us. We chose 1 inch is to 12 inches/1 feet. Mathematically written as 1:12.

Evaluate Design Well this is my design! And I have created this model as a part of the apartment. This will be one of the bedrooms. So my model isn't all that neat can improve and I have also changed a part of my room so that it looks better. Desk Cupboard Beds and table Sofa Center Table

Ideas We were first just making all our rooms and joining them but then we thought lets make an apartment; a kids apartment! This motivated us and so the 3 of us made this apartment, Ajay J. & I made our rooms. Nishna our third group mate made the outer part of the apartment. We worked through it but I then had to complete it at home as I couldn’t come to school.

Reflection I think that this was a very fun topic as it was good to actually get into the architectural part as this topic was related to geography, math, design technology and more. So this was a very interdisciplinary topic in which we had fun and also did work! Good way to end the academic year. This topic was related to environments as there are scaled stuff everywhere. Places in ratios etc. It’s also connected to human ingenuity as we have created scaling and it’s a very good way to portrait the places etc. Making places is design technology. Geography, Area is humanities. And math of course because of bearings and all. This topic has made us learn all about these things! Many challenging phases in communications but we were up and ready for it !
