A Guide to the Code of Student Conduct

Good Morning Students, Today is Monday, August 24, 2015 the first day of school, and we are very excited to have you back for the school year. This is going to be a fantastic school year.

In order to start off the year on the right foot, we think it is very important that you and your parent(s)/guardian(s) are familiar with the Code of Student Conduct. When you go home tonight, look up the Code of Student Conduct with your parent/guardian. Review the Code of Student Conduct, and have conversations about it. There is an elementary and secondary version, and they are available in the English, Spanish, and Haitian-Creole languages.

Model Student Behavior Code of Student Conduct Behaviors & Corrective Strategies Student Rights & ResponsibilitiesVital AlertsFormal Corrective Strategies Multi-Tiered System Supports (MTSS) Behavior Intervention Guide Glossary The Code of Student Conduct is divided into these sections. Take the time to review and discuss this with your parent/guardian.

You can access the Code of Student Conduct online by visiting and then click on the Parent Portal. The Code of Student Conduct will be towards the bottom of the Parent Portal main page.

Once you have reviewed the Code of Student Conduct with your parent/guardian. Have your parent/guardian sign and date the Acknowledgement of Receipt and Review form. Also we will need for you to do the same. Don’t forget to bring the signed copy back to school and turn it in to your teacher.

Starting tomorrow you will begin learning about Values Matters which is part of the Core Values mentioned in the Code of Student Conduct. You will get to participate in some fun and exciting activities that promote model student behavior.

By knowing and applying what you have learned in the Code of Student Conduct and the Values Matters, you are on your way to becoming a model student and most importantly a global citizen. Good luck and I wish you a rewarding and successful school year.
