Introduction  Our senior project this semester will involve complete development of a theoretical medical building.  We will determine preliminary design, building and fire code requirements, the site location, and begin the preliminary building estimates.  Rooms  Waiting Room  Play Room  Restroom  Utility Room  Break Room  Reception Room  X-Ray Room  Processing Room  Ambulatory Room  Doctor Office  Administration Office  Nurse Office  3 Exam Rooms  The building will be 2,378 square feet.

Determining Location  Hammond, LA  Main road  Zoning: Commercial  Easy access  Narrowed down to 3 locations

Location 1  1107 West University Ave.  1.15 acres  Price: $799,695  Lot is cleared and ready to build on

Location 2  On the corner of East University Ave. and North Cherry St.  5.5 acres  Price: $250,000  Not cleared

Location 3  Highway 190, West of I-55  3.07 acres  Price: $129,000  Not cleared

Final Location  We chose location 2  Decision was based on location, price, and lot size  Only 3 acres will be used  Sell the remaining 2.5 acres for roughly $100,000  A total of around $150,000 invested after selling land
