Chapter 30 145. What do Atticus and Heck Tate argue about on the front porch? Atticus says that if Jem is guilty of killing Bob Ewell he must take responsibility. Heck explains that Jem couldn’t have killed Bob. It must have been Boo. Heck creates the story that Bob fell on his knife to protect Boo from the attention of the town. (p. 271-275)
