RUBELLA

WHAT IS RUBELLA A rash (small, fine pink spots) that starts on the face and spreads to the torso, then to the arms and legs with low fever. Rubella for pregnant women results in abortions, miscarriages and severe birth defects.

CONGENITAL RUBELLA If a child is born deaf and has Congenital Rubella the common congenital defects are cataracts and other eye defects, heart defects, sensor neural deafness, mental retardation and other immunodeficiency's. A baby can only get Congenital Rubella if their mother hasn’t been vaccinated. Low birth weight of 5.5 pounds and less Deaf blind 2.6 % of blind and 7.7 % of deaf reported low birth weights Today we have less then 10 who are born with Rubella!!!

Prevent Rubella…. To prevent Rubella you must get vaccinated. The rubella vaccine is part of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) children can be vaccinated as early as 12 months. Women who are pregnant or intend to become pregnant within three months should not be vaccine. After vaccination your body is permanently immune to Rubella..
