Birth Defects… What do we already know?? Lets take a minute and discuss what we already know about birth defects: Causes include: Heredity, Environmental Variety of types through our bios Downs Syndrome- Mrs. Baker

What do we still need to know? There are more than 4,000 different known birth defects, ranging from minor to serious. We need to focus on learning more about the different types of birth defects.

Today’s Goal: We are going to learn more about different types of birth defects. Each one of you are going to become experts on a type of birth defect. You are going to have 1 day to make a flyer about your specific birth defect.

In your flyer, you will need to include: Visual picture Number of people affected When birth defect appears Method of Inheritance How birth defect affects child Treatment for birth defect ** Please print once you are done with your flyer and place it in the box.

Tomorrow… We will be having a scavenger hunt tomorrow learning about the different birth defects. We will be posting all of your flyers around the classroom and you will go around to each one and write down facts about each birth defect.
