Food Waste Recycling Update

Why food waste? 23% of black bin is food

Why food waste? Autumn 2014

How much food could we recycle? Approximately 18,000 tonnes available 6,000 tonnes currently being recycled (up 1000 tonnes since November 2014)

18,000 tonnes is: 13,500 Ford Focus cars – the car parking at Cribbs Causeway is for 7,000 cars so twice that amount

Why food waste? 23% of black bin is food 50% recycling target by 2020 Cost - AD (£38) MBT (£96) Every 1,000 tonne recycled saves £58,000
