This iPad will be great to use, but how will I stay out of trouble? Image:

Learning Target  I can learn how to use the iPad responsibly. Image: tech-kid.com Success Criteria: – I can create a safe and secure passcode. – I can list 3 rules that will keep me out of trouble with my iPad.

Can other people get me into trouble? Yes… If you don’t set a passcode, anyone can get into your iPad and cause you problems! Passcode: 4 numbers Remember those numbers!

Remember... Passwords and passcodes are private! You should never share your password and NEVER attempt to “hack” someone else’s password.

Websites Be Appropriate! Be Responsible!

Can I play games on the iPad?  Yes, but… not during class time!  Remember: It is a violation of the Responsible Use Policy to download unapproved games or game emulators onto your iPad.

Can I bypass security? No!  “Jailbreaking” or tampering with the settings on your iPad violates the Responsible Use Policy.  Attempting to download games, game emulators or installing unapproved programs onto your iPad also violates the Responsible Use Policy.

What if I try to tamper with my iPad?  If you tamper with your iPad’s security settings or restrictions:  You will lose your iPad, so it can be fixed.  Pay a $5 fine.  Other discipline your school deems appropriate.

Can I have the iPad taken from me? Yes!  If you are not using your iPad responsibly there are consequences. You can lose the use of some apps on the iPad. Worst case scenario: You lose the privilege to use the iPad.

Does my iPad need to rest? Yes!  Don’t take it to bed with you. You and the iPad both need rest! –Make sure it’s charging. –Place it in a safe location where you won’t forget to grab it for school each day. Image: /photos/renfield/ / Image: theguardian.com

Does my iPad ever need a break? YES! Really, you need a break from it. – Put it down when you are listening in class. in class. – Don’t forget to talk to people. Your iPad is a good friend, but don’t let it be your only friend! Image:

Can I get in trouble on the internet? YES!  Lots of people get in trouble on the internet everyday.  Remember the internet is part of the real world, and choices you make there will affect your life. Image:

How much info is just too much? Keep in mind:  There are many things in life that are private, the internet is NOT one of them.  If a future employer Googled you, would they like what they find.  Once you post something online, you lose on control over where it ends up.  Would you be okay with your grandma seeing what you’ve posted? If the answer is no, don’t post it.

What did they do wrong? Queenbee1234: I hate Algebra!!!!! Skaterdude14: I sooo sympathize – my math teacher gave me 28 problems for homework.homework Melanie13: You guys are so smart, I’m just in regular math.so Skaterdude14: Really – what school do you go to? Melanie13: Brinnett Palms, its in Miami Florida.Palms Coolio: You are sooo lucky girl, I live in stinking Wisconsin. I never get to sunbathe. TYlerkid: I live in Hawaii – love the waves.
