Disappointment  Things that We Should Be Disappointed About:  The Lost

The Lost  Luke 19:10 – “the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost”  I Timothy 2:3-4 – “who desires all men to be saved”  I Thessalonians 5:9 – “God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation”  Acts 10:34-35 – “whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him”

Disappointment  Things that We Should Be Disappointed About  The Lost  People Unwilling to Listen

People Unwilling to Listen  Matthew 13:14-16 – “their ears are hard of hearing”  Mark 3:1-6 – “being grieved by the hardness of their hearts”  II Timothy 4:2-4 – “they will turn their ears away from the truth”  Matthew 13:9 – “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

People Unwilling to Repent  Luke 13:3,5 – “unless you repent you will all likewise perish”  Acts 17:30 – “God… commands all men everywhere to repent”  II Peter 3:9 – “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance”  Luke 15:7,10 – “joy in heaven over one sinner who repents”

Not Growing  II Timothy 2:15 – “Be diligent (study) to present yourself approved to God”  II Peter 3:17-18 – “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”  I Peter 2:1-3 – “desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby”  Hebrews 5:12-14 – “by this time you ought to be teachers”

When We Sin  Isaiah 59:1-2 – “your iniquities have separated you from your God”  Psalm 51:1-4 – “Against You, You only, have I sinned”  II Corinthians 7:9-10 – “godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation”  Acts 8:18-24 – “your heart is not right in the sight of God”
